In addition to Awana, the CAC has recommended the appointments of Krishna Das, Rakesh Patel, and N. Arjun Yadav as members of the committee. The BCCI confirmed that the final position on the five-member panel will be filled in the near future.
A Wealth of Experience in Domestic and International Cricket
The newly appointed chairperson, Parvinder Awana, brings significant experience to the role, having represented India in two T20 Internationals. His domestic career was equally distinguished, featuring 62 First-Class matches where he claimed 191 wickets. Beyond his time with Delhi, India A, and the Rest of India, Awana also gained exposure in the Indian Premier League with Kings XI Punjab. Since retiring from competitive play, he has transitioned into coaching, working extensively with Delhi’s age-group squads and contributing to various BCCI high-performance programs at the Centre of Excellence.
Supporting Members Bring Diverse Coaching Backgrounds
The committee members selected alongside Awana possess deep roots in the Indian domestic circuit. Krishna Das, a former fast bowler for Assam and Goa, played 49 First-Class matches and secured 166 wickets. His post-playing career has been defined by coaching roles, including stints with the India U19 bowling unit and the Uttarakhand Ranji Trophy team.
Rakesh Patel, who represented Gujarat and Baroda, brings a broad perspective from his time playing in the Duleep, Deodhar, and Irani Trophy competitions. His coaching resume includes leading Baroda and Gujarat teams across various age groups, most recently serving as the head coach for the Baroda U23 side during the 2025-26 season.
Rounding out the current appointments is N. Arjun Yadav, a veteran of 83 First-Class matches who was a member of India’s victorious 2000 U19 World Cup squad. Having represented Hyderabad and India A, Yadav transitioned into coaching the Hyderabad senior and U23 teams. He has also served as a BCCI match referee since 2022, adding administrative expertise to the committee's collective profile.
