The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to convene its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 18 at its headquarters in Mumbai. A notable item on the agenda is the proposal to grant associate membership to the Cricket Association of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This initiative, which was previously deliberated during an Apex Council meeting, is now being presented to the AGM for final consideration. While associate membership does not confer voting rights, the approval of this motion would integrate the Union Territory into the BCCI structure, potentially paving the way for teams from the region to participate in the national domestic cricket calendar, which currently features 38 teams.
