The Board of Control for Cricket in India has confirmed a change to the national squad ahead of the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand, with fast bowler
This adjustment to the roster follows the withdrawal of Prasidh Krishna, who has been ruled out of the entire ODI series. Krishna sustained a hamstring injury during the recent home series against the West Indies, an issue that has prevented him from participating in the upcoming limited-overs fixtures against the Black Caps.
Injury Updates and Squad Rotations
While Krishna will miss the ODI portion of the tour, his involvement in the subsequent two-Test series remains a possibility. The fast bowler is currently undergoing fitness assessments, and there is a potential pathway for him to join the India A squad for the third and final four-day match against New Zealand A in Lincoln, which is scheduled to commence on November 7, provided he receives the necessary medical clearance.
The squad management also includes a specific plan for pace all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy. He is set to feature in the first ODI against New Zealand before transitioning to the India A setup. This move is designed to ensure he gains valuable match practice ahead of the Test series, which is slated to begin on November 19.
