Coaching and Preparation
Rakesh Patra, the coach of the Indian men's artistic gymnastics team, expressed pride in the athletes' accomplishments, stating, "It is a great achievement by the boys. They trained really well during the national camp in Bhubaneswar a month ago. As part of their preparation, I had also taken them to London. They are doing well, and we hope that in the 2030 Commonwealth Games, India should win medals." He also acknowledged the continuous support from the Odisha government, which has been instrumental in their training.
While Harshit is coached by Raja Babu Yadav, Akshat trains under Praveen Sharma, both of whom have played crucial roles in their development as gymnasts. The duo was also part of the Indian junior men's artistic gymnastics team that clinched a bronze medal in the team competition just days prior to their individual success.
As the spotlight shifts to the upcoming women's competition, the Asian Junior Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships are set to take place from June 25 to 28 in Zunyi, China, promising more exciting moments for Indian gymnastics.
