Coaching and Future Aspirations
Rakesh Patra, the coach of the Indian men's artistic gymnastics team, expressed pride in the athletes' accomplishments, attributing their success to rigorous training and preparation. "It is a great achievement by the boys. They trained really well during the national camp in Bhubaneswar a month ago. As part of their preparation, I had also taken them to London. They are doing well, and we hope that in the 2030 Commonwealth Games, India should win medals," Patra stated in an interview with PTI. He also acknowledged the support from the Odisha government, which has been instrumental in their training efforts.
While Harshit is coached by Raja Babu Yadav, Akshat trains under Praveen Sharma, both of whom have played crucial roles in their development as athletes. The duo was also part of the Indian junior men's artistic gymnastics team that secured a bronze medal in the team competition earlier in the event. As the championships continue, attention will now turn to the upcoming Asian Junior Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships, scheduled to take place from June 25 to 28 in Zunyi, China.
