Jaguars left tackle Anton Harrison set for knee surgery following London injury

Jacksonville Jaguars left tackle Anton Harrison is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right knee following the team's return from London next week. The procedure comes after the offensive lineman sustained the injury during last Sunday's 19-17 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

While the exact severity of the injury remains uncertain, reports indicate that the recovery timeline could range from three to five weeks, or potentially sideline the player for the remainder of the regular season. The final determination will depend on the findings of the surgeons once the procedure is performed.

Impact on Jaguars offensive line rotation

The injury occurred during a running play, specifically a sweep to the right by Bhayshul Tuten. Harrison appeared to grab his right knee immediately after disengaging from a block and was subsequently taken off the field on a cart. Following his departure, Walker Little stepped in to fill the position and is now expected to take over as the starting left tackle for the Jaguars.

Harrison, who was selected 27th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, had transitioned from right tackle to left tackle during the most recent training camp. His durability had been a notable asset, as he had missed only three games during his first three seasons in the league. The organization demonstrated its commitment to the lineman earlier this year by picking up his fifth-year option in April.

The Jaguars, currently holding a 4-1 record, are preparing for their upcoming matchup against the Houston Texans at Wembley Stadium this Sunday. The team is scheduled to return to Jacksonville immediately following the conclusion of that game, at which point Harrison will undergo the planned medical intervention.
