Browns suffer defensive line blow as Mason Graham and Mike Hall Jr. exit against Steelers

The Cleveland Browns' defensive front faced a significant setback during Thursday night's clash with the Pittsburgh Steelers, losing two key interior linemen to injury. Starting defensive tackle Mason Graham was ruled out for the remainder of the contest after suffering a knee injury early in the first quarter.

The incident occurred during the Steelers' opening offensive series. Graham appeared to sustain the injury when his left leg bent awkwardly while he was engaged in a block. The defensive standout was initially attended to by medical staff before making his way to the sideline medical tent. He was later seen walking toward the locker room with assistance, effectively ending his participation in the game.

Defensive depth tested as injuries mount

Graham, who was selected fifth overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, has been a pivotal figure for the Cleveland defense. Entering the game, he led the team with four sacks, a figure that also placed him in a tie for the second-most sacks across the entire league. His absence leaves a substantial void in the middle of the Browns' defensive line.

The situation for the Browns grew more precarious in the second quarter when Mike Hall Jr., who had stepped in to replace Graham, also suffered an injury. Hall was forced to leave the field after sustaining an ankle injury and was subsequently carted to the locker room. The loss of both players creates an immediate challenge for the Cleveland coaching staff as they look to contain the Pittsburgh offense for the remainder of the primetime matchup.
