Carolyn Tisch Blodgett Confirms Transfer of Giants Ownership Shares to Family Trusts

The long-discussed transition of ownership shares within the New York Giants organization has reached its conclusion. Carolyn Tisch Blodgett, a strategic advisor for the Tisch ownership group, confirmed on Tuesday that the transfer of shares from co-owners Steve, Laurie, and Jonathan Tisch to their children’s trusts is now complete.

The confirmation came during an appearance at the Front Office Sports Asset Class event in New York. While the shift in equity marks a notable milestone for the franchise, the current leadership structure remains largely intact, with Steve Tisch continuing to serve as the team’s executive vice president and chairman of the board, while Jonathan Tisch remains the treasurer and a board director. Laurie Tisch also continues her role as a board member.

A New Chapter for the Tisch Family and the Giants

The Tisch family originally acquired a 50% stake in the New York Giants in 1991. The recent share transfer follows comments made by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell during the league’s annual meetings in April, where he noted that the three siblings were no longer considered owners following the movement of the shares into the trusts.

Carolyn Tisch Blodgett, who has been involved with the team for several years, described the transition as a natural progression. Having previously led the sales process for a minority interest in the team last year, she has been instrumental in driving the organization’s modern business initiatives. Her focus has centered on integrating a growth-oriented, high-tech mentality into the mature NFL franchise, with specific attention paid to international expansion, fan engagement, and the evolution of the in-game experience.

Focusing on Business Growth and Future Strategy

Addressing her role within the organization, Tisch Blodgett emphasized that her current priority is contributing to the team’s daily operations rather than speculating on future leadership titles. She highlighted the importance of aligning the business side of the organization with the team's on-field performance, noting that there is significant work to be done in areas such as flag football, international outreach, and diversifying the fan base.

During the event, Tisch Blodgett declined to address questions regarding her uncle Steve Tisch, who was named in documents released by the Department of Justice in January concerning convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In a statement issued at the time of the release, Steve Tisch acknowledged a past association with Epstein, describing it as a brief period involving emails about movies, philanthropy, and investments, while expressing deep regret for the connection.

As the Giants move forward under this new ownership structure, the organization remains committed to its ongoing business development strategies. Tisch Blodgett continues to maintain a regular presence at the team’s facility, working to foster a culture of growth that mirrors the team’s aspirations on the field.
