Dybantsa set for debut as injury report shifts
The arrival of the 6-foot-9 forward brings intrigue to the Wizards' rotation. During his limited preseason action, Dybantsa showcased his versatility by averaging 13 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and two steals across three appearances, while maintaining a field goal percentage of just over 42 percent. His transition to the professional level follows a standout collegiate season at BYU, where he posted impressive averages of 25.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game, shooting 51 percent from the floor.
While the Wizards welcome back their No. 1 pick, the team’s injury report also saw a negative development. Forward Justin Champagnie has been ruled out for the matchup against Cleveland. Champagnie is dealing with a right foot injury, which he sustained during Monday night's game against the Charlotte Hornets. With Dybantsa now available to bolster the lineup, the Wizards will look to integrate their rookie into the rotation as they face the Cavaliers.
