In a thrilling display of skill and speed, 13-year-old Rivaan Dev Preetham from MSPORT dominated the Junior Max category during the inaugural round of the Meco FMSCI Indian National Karting Championship held at the CoASTT track in Coimbatore on June 28, 2026. Rivaan showcased his exceptional talent by securing the top position in qualifying, winning all heats, the pre-final, and ultimately the final race.

This victory marks a significant continuation of Rivaan's success in karting, as he has clinched the National karting title for three consecutive seasons. He previously triumphed in the Micro Max category in 2023 and 2024, followed by a win in Mini Max in 2025. His early performance in the Junior Max class sets a high standard for the rest of the season.

Strong Performances in Other Categories

In the Micro Max category, Rudrapratap Singh Shekhawat, representing Leap Frog Racing, also had an impressive outing. He not only won the pre-final but also secured victory in the final race, finishing with a time of 9:46.771. Following him were Ayansh Patil from MSPORT and Aarav Sureka from Rayo Racing, who finished second and third, respectively.

The Mini Max category saw Jishnu Seralathan from Peregrine Racing take the top spot, clocking in at 11:01.908. Arshi Gupta from Leap Frog Racing and Rudrapratap Singh followed closely behind, finishing second and third, respectively. The results from the finals across all categories highlight the competitive nature of the event, with several racers demonstrating remarkable skill and determination.

Final Standings and Highlights

The final results for the Junior Max category were equally impressive, with Rivaan finishing the race in 7:35.631, followed by Hamza Murtuza from Crest Motorsport and Rehan Khan. In the Senior Max category, Rohaan Madesh from Peregrine Racing emerged victorious, completing the race in 13:44.845, with Eshanth Vengatesan and Krish Gupta finishing in second and third place, respectively.

This opening round of the championship not only showcased the talents of young karting enthusiasts but also set the stage for an exciting season ahead, as competitors aim to challenge Rivaan's early lead in the Junior Max category.
