At the Meco Meritus Cup karting finale held in Coimbatore, Akashat Misra from Bengaluru secured the championship title.

Coimbatore played host to the thrilling conclusion of the Meco Meritus Cup and the India Karting Academy Trophy, where top young drivers showcased their skills at the CoASTT Kartomania circuit. The event, which took place on June 9, 2026, saw Bengaluru's Akshat Misra from Peregrine Racing clinch the championship title in the Senior Max class, solidifying his position as a leading competitor in the karting scene.

In the Senior Max category, Misra's performance was particularly impressive, as he secured victory in the second sprint race, clocking a time of 11 minutes and 35.198 seconds. His consistent performance throughout the series earned him a total of 85 points, placing him ahead of his rivals. Eshanth Vengatesan from MSPORT and Ishaan Madesh, also from Peregrine Racing, finished second and third in the first sprint race, respectively, demonstrating the competitive nature of the event.

Mini Max and Micro Max Champions Crowned

Hyderabad's Shiv Tummala, also representing Peregrine Racing, dominated the Mini Max class, winning both sprint races and accumulating 96 points to secure the championship. His victories in the first and second races, with times of 7 minutes and 52.372 seconds and 9 minutes and 25.332 seconds respectively, showcased his driving prowess and consistency on the track.

In the Micro Max category, Aarav Sureka from Rayo Racing emerged as the champion, finishing with a total of 78 points. Sureka's performance included a second-place finish in the first sprint race and a strong showing in the second, where he faced tough competition from fellow drivers. Zidaan Arshaan Anees, also from Peregrine Racing, won both sprint races but fell short in the overall points tally.

India Karting Academy Trophy Highlights

Simultaneously, the India Karting Academy Trophy featured exciting races in the OK-Junior class. Rivaan Dev Preetham from MSPORT claimed the championship title with a total of 99 points. His performance included a second-place finish in the Super Heat and a victory in the final race, where he completed the 14 laps in 10 minutes and 48.417 seconds. Rehan Khan Rasheed from Momentum Motorsports and Syed Luqman from Peregrine Racing rounded out the top three in the final race, showcasing the depth of talent in the competition.
