DB Sundara Ramam, Vice-President of Corporate Services at Tata Steel, commented on the sale, emphasizing the historical significance of Churchill Brothers in Indian football. “We are pleased that this agreement allows our players and coaches to continue their journey in club football,” he stated. This transition marks a new chapter for Jamshedpur FC, which has seen a turnover of Rs 32.23 crore in the fiscal year 2026.
Despite the sale, Tata Steel remains dedicated to nurturing grassroots sports. The company plans to concentrate its efforts on the Tata Football Academy and various youth development programs. The academy has a notable track record, having produced over 150 players who have represented India, including 26 captains across different age groups. In addition to its commitment to youth development, Tata Steel is actively investing in enhancing the sports infrastructure in Jamshedpur and has partnered with the AIFF to modernize its youth ecosystem.
