After Sierra Leone captain won the toss and elected to bat, the decision backfired almost immediately against a disciplined Rwandan attack. While Abu Kamara provided some resistance with a 36-ball 34 and Solomon Williams added 18 off 15 deliveries, the rest of the lineup struggled to find rhythm. Kubwimana’s precision proved too much for the batting side, as they were restricted to a modest total of 87/9 by the end of their 20 overs.
Rwanda navigate early nerves to seal chase
Chasing a target of 88, Rwanda’s innings faced an early wobble. The side lost two quick wickets, and the pressure mounted when Hamza Khan fell with the score at 25 in just the third over. However, the hosts quickly regained their composure to steer the chase back on track.
David Uwimana provided the necessary impetus, striking a rapid 24 off just 9 balls to take the game away from Sierra Leone.
